Tools and Plug-ins

Adobe.. check, flash and shockwave.. check, media players.. yes, those and more. My favourite is Winamp but I already had the others too. Music is something I really love so my media players get used a LOT, I find Winamp the easiest to use, especially the Bento version. It has to handle a lot too, I have a large music library and I put everything in there (bad move really, it overloads it a tad). There's some great add-ons available for Winamp too, some for appearances some for usability. I've never really liked Windows Media Player and I only keep Quicktime and Real Player for specific uses. Winamp converts the newer .flac files easily, I'm not sure about the others because I don't upgrade them often like I do with Winamp as I use them less.

I downloaded the free version of Copernic to try (still need to play with it yet) but decided not to bother with the bookmark managers, although I can see they could be very handy organisers. The offline browsers interested me so I downloaded PageSucker and the trial version of WebCopier Pro. I already had a free one called Web Shot, so I copied the same site with the three to compare them. PageSucker and WebCopier were definitely much better as WebShot only took an image of the page, it isn't searchable or interactive at all. PageSucker was much faster than WebCopier but didn't appear to have any lower quality with the end result. I need to experiment more, but I do like what I have seen so far.

On a side note, I use Firefox as my browser and find this so much easier to manage downloads in than Explorer. Firefox itself also has many plug-ins available for a multitude of tasks, so I probably should go and have a look there for any that could be useful.
